so i thought i'd do a bit of a different outfit post. i bought this gold lion chain necklace from a vintage fair recently, and i'm in love with it. i decided to base my day and night outfit around this piece today, to see how it can look amazing with different looks :)
this what i wore to uni today - i wasn't too sure of the weather, so decided to wear my thinnish leather jacket which makes everything just look so much better! i also popped on my big chunky black snood which i got from primark agesss ago - i love it, it looks really good on its own with a big baggy t-shirt as well. my bag, as well, is from primark... can tell i'm a bit obsessed with the place? it's a direct rip off of the Zara tote, which i would completely love to own, but the price tag is a little hefty. this casual look is really nice to wear to uni, as i'm warm, comfortable, and can also fit all my stuff in my bag - which is always a plus!
aannnndddd then i realised it was actually quite warm! underneath my jacket i was wearing a plain cream chiffon shirt, which i believe is from H&M. i accessorised the gold chain as a sort of choker underneath the collar, which i felt livened up the monocrome outfit, and also dressed it up a bit (even though i was only going to uni!). i rarely wear shirts, but i think i'm going to have to start investing in some more pretty ones like this as they feel so nice! i'm rocking my Topshop leggings (again), but they go so well with everything! i wore my black creepers with black frilly socks - which are only £1.50 in primark, so i suggest you stock up! :)
tadaaa! i've transformed for my first night out in 2 weeks. that's a lot for a student! this is my vintage shirt which i got at the fair, i love the crazy pattern and the colours all whirled together - it's rare i wear colour, but the silks and the complementary colours are amazing. i am wearing the gold lion chain, again, underneath the collar, however i feel it looks completely different with such a loud pattern - the day outfit felt fresh and classic, whereas this is a little bit garish and in your face (which i love). i've borrowed my flat mates black disco shorts, which i do really like but feel very brave wearing as they are so tight! i've belted them up so they don't ride up so much.
my favourite part of this shirt is the back. it's been cut and then sewn up to create a dipped back effect, which adds a level of individuality to the shirt and gives it that edge to allow it to be worn on a night out rather than just casually. i love the way it falls, and i don't think i've seen any other shirts out there like this. i think it'd be fairly easy to do yourself, it's just finishing it off to make sure it doesn't look like you've just hacked away at it! i lovelovelove this and can't say it enough - will have to remember the little stall i got it at and invest in a few more!
i rarely do make up stuff, so i think it's about time to start. i'm hiding my lips as i hadn't done them yet - oopsie. i wore mac studio fix fluid as the base on my face, this is quite thick so you really don't need that much. i followed this up with max studio fix powder which keeps it all in place, and also gives such a smooth look. i then brushed on some mac golden bronzer to give my pale face some colour! i used the mua heaven&earth palatte on my eyes, as i didn't fancy heavy coverage tonight due to the big flicky eyeliner! i did my flicks using barry m liquid eyeliner - which i would recommend to anyone as it works wonders! i don't always use mac, but i save it for when i go out etc as it always makes me feel better!
so, there's my day to night transformation - featuring my beautiful gold lion chain! enjoy :) xo
